My life with Chronic Migraine comes with many ups and downs. I have a Migraine attack almost everyday and this brings with it the need for comfort. Whether it be my favorite blanket or something soothing to listen to, there are several products that make my worst pain days seem bearable.
This isn’t the kind of information I want to keep to myself. I want to share these and I hope that you find these things as useful as I have. I also hope that you also find some relief on your worst pain days.
Products I Use on my Worst Pain Days
I honestly don’t think I could function without an electric blanket!
When I have my Migraine Attacks, I often shiver and am cold. An electric blanket is perfect to get warm. I also find the low heat from the blanket very comforting.
This is the Headache Hat and it is a God send. Because it is closed with velcro, the tightness can be adjusted.
Sometimes a little bit of counter pressure can provide a great amount of relief when you are having a Migraine. This not only does that but it also provides the cold that also helps.
Topical Lotions, Creams and Oils
CBD or Hemp Oil has probably been the one that has surprised me the most. A few drops of the oil rubbed into the areas of the worst pain really does help.
I rub this into my scalp, neck and around the back of my ear. Please be careful around your eyes because it does not feel good if you get it in there!
On my worst pain days, nothing seems to help better than a heating pad.
I wrap one around my shoulders and to the base of my skull and this one is perfect because it has an enclosure that holds it in place.
You can find one in just about any size that will work perfect for your needs.
Reading helps pass the time on my worst pain days. I can get carried away to a far away land and go on an adventure through the stories. This is a wonderful distraction from feeling bad.
On days when I can’t handle looking at screens or if I am having trouble concentrating, I love using Audiobooks to keep me entertained. If I am in the mood to read a book on my own, I use the Kindle app on my iPad.
Comfort on Worst Pain Days
AS you can tell, I focus on making myself as comfortable as possible on my worst pain days. I use my medications, of course, but they don’t always alleviate the pain completely. These products are the things I use on the worst days to make myself more comfortable.
